Building a Robust Immune System with Herbal Adaptogens, Essential Oils, and Nourishing Foods

In preparation for Fall and Winter, how can we ward off viruses, bacteria, and other pathogens in natural ways? This class will explore effective ways to strengthen the bodies’ specific and non-specific defenses with herbal adaptogens, anti-viral essential oils, and choosing foods in season. This preventative approach to wellness will help you stay healthy, optimize immune defenses, and gain more energy as an added vitality boost! We will discuss tonic herbs and medicinal mushrooms, explore anti-viral essential oils, and seasonal foods that increase our vitality and immunity. Participants will enjoy a hands-on portion of the class making and sampling immune-enhancing teas and soup, exploring essential oils and making their own aromatherapy blends. (3 hours)

Your Instructor

Holly Dunbar, Licensed Massage Therapist, Herbalist, and Certified Aromatherapist, is the owner and founder of New Moon Bodywork & Botanicals in La Plata, MD.  With nearly thirty years’ experience in holistic health care, she is a graduate of Baltimore School of Massage, East West Herb School, and The Aromahead Institute, and a professional member of The American Herbalists Guild.  As the creator and developer of the New Moon aromatherapy product line, she continues to refine and grow the line with the goal of providing healing and wellness with natural products.  A frequent speaker and writer at both local and national events and publications, Holly combines her experience as a practitioner, product formulator, and lifelong gardener to inspire and empower others in their path to optimal health. 


All retreats and workshops are held at Raven’s Crest in Newburg, MD. Unless noted, they are held rain or shine. There are no refunds once purchased but you can transfer it to a friend. If the minimum participants is not reached, the workshop will be cancelled at least a week in advance and you will be refunded in full. Once the maximum is reached, then the event will be removed from the page for purchase. After purchase, you will receive details including street address and a pre-retreat questionnaire so we can tailor the experience to the participants and get food and other preferences. We welcome any questions you may have before or after purchase.
